    HandBall

    22/08/2007
Slovakia beat Chile and secured first place in M2 placement group. Chile showed more willingness to win in first half. Unmotivated players from Slovakia give a chance for pan American handball players and they had advantage in first half. After 20 minutes of play Chile was four goals ahead (14:10) but shortly after Slovakian players start to play more serious and came close only one goal being at half time. But there was too much nervous on the court. Players of booth teams always had something to say to each other and that bring match almost on the edge of an incident.

In second half Slovakia start to play more aggressive especially in defense and dominate until the end.

Nervous remain but there was no bigger incident.

HUGO VALDEBENITO, HEAD COACH OF CHILE

I don’t know why Slovakian had to play so aggressive. Match was interesting in first half. There was no need for that nervous.

JAN HIANIK, HEAD COACH OF SLOVAKIA

“It’s hard to play against that kind of team. We are much taller and every duel is like to put boxer from middleweight in ring with heavyweight fighter. From coach point of view I am sorry that match was that nervous and there were small incidents between players.
